South Korea's Samsung Electronics plans to launch the English version of the AI-based Bicsby AI program later this month. The English version of Pixby, an advanced audio recognition system that comes on the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus, is likely to be launched in the United States and transferred to other English-speaking countries, according to Yonhap News Agency.
It has been reported that Samsung has begun recruiting volunteers for a pre-test of Pixby this week, where anyone with any of the latest Samsung phones can apply it through Samsung's US site. Samsung had planned to launch the English version at the end of May but was delayed because of problems with the language test.
As with Apple's Siri, Bixby is Samsung's latest invention to regain its edge as the world's best smartphone maker after suffering a blow to its sales and reputation for the unsuccessful Galaxy 7 experience with battery problems.
