Qualcomm has announced its financial statement for the third quarter of 2016, and the results revealed an increase of 18.6% in profit, compared to the same period last year.
It emerged from these figures that despite the decline in sales in the smartphone market in general, but the high-spec phones are still profitable for companies. Qualcomm provides powerful processors for most high-end smartphones, including the iPhone phones, as well as Snap Dragon processor on Android devices.
But the most important and strongest profits made by Qualcomm comes from licensing, where the company believes that the increased profits in that period came from increased demand for the provision of licenses in China.
Qualcomm also said it benefited from the growth of original equipment manufacturers in China, the companies that manufacture the equipment, or gear, or regulations, to other companies. The company also noted that the mother of GSM chips sales reached 201 million segment in the third quarter only, which is higher than expected.
But based on Apple's new strategy, we will not succeed with Qualcomm continue in the future, as the company announced last month that he will rely on Intel in the next iPhone phones manufacturing.
